Cleaning Tips
How to remove candle wax from your carpet
You can remove candle wax from carpet with thing's that every household has or can purchase for around $11.00. The things that you will need is one roll of paper towels, any type or brand of clothes iron and a metal comb or a fork will work. If you have a large or thick piece of wax stuck in the carpet, take a metal comb or fork and use the tynes to break up the large clumps from the carpet, if you have large piece of wax it will be a lott faster to remove and break up if you freeze it with ice for 10 minuts. After that take your iron and turn it on medium heat, and never any higher. While your iron is warming up take your roll of paper towels and pull off two sheets at a time as to double up the sheets for a stronger barrier between the carpet and the iron. Ok now let’s get started, take double sheet of paper towel and place over wax then take your iron set on medium and place on paper towel over wax. Press down on iron for 5 seconds at a time. Lift your iron and lift paper towel to see if wax is soaking into towel. NOTE: At start you may need to press iron down for 10 seconds at a time BUT only twice so as to get the wax in the carpet warm. Now that the wax is warm and being pulled out into the paper towels you should only use iron 5 seconds at a time. Repeat the 5 seconds at a time with new clean paper towels until wax is gone. Note if the wax in your carpet is a color other than white or clear, that color will stay in carpet.
Pet Odors
If you have a pet and he or she has an accident you can keep a solution of 50% water and 50% white vinegar in a spray bottle. Each time they have an accident you can take your spray bottle and generously spray the solution on the area, and blot up with a towel. This simple trick will drastically cut down on the smell of urine in your home.
Spot Cleaning
I recommend using spot shot, which can be purchased at most grocery stores, Home Depot, and Lowe’s for about $4.00. Spot Shot is a spot cleaner that is similar to what I use. It will not leave any residue in the carpet which can contribute to returning spots.
